THE DESIGN OF A PRECIOUS WINE LABEL FOR THE FIRST CHAMPAGNE AFFINED IN THE PROTECTED MARINE AREA OF PORTOFINO

On Saturday October 20th, we went at Castello Brown in Portofino for the presentation of a unique wine in the world: Cloe Marie Kottakis is the first champagne, in only 3.000 specimens, aged for 18 months in the sea of the Portofino Marine Protected Area, at 52 depth meters.

The champagne, produced in France by Drappier, selected and put to refine by the italian Jamin S.r.l., has attracted the enthusiasm of the guests and the sommeliers present. From the Champagne region, passing through the seabeds of Portofino, it has not betrayed its unique narration also on the palate.

Design Gang has created the logo of the Underwater Wine Cave -52 and designed the labels for this first production of champagne. The bottles of Cloe Marie Kottakis, covered with the residues of their stay in the backdrops, are dressed in a precious brass label, closed with bolts reminiscent of the marine world. A collar shows the number of this "Privilege" edition. Brass is a material that - like wine - changes over time. The oxidation process makes each label even more unique, each bottle is a collector's item.

Design Gang also edited the graphics of communication materials for the event at Castello Brown, which is located just 52 meters above the sea level.
