Recent events involving the Coronavirus<\/strong> compel people to stay at a proper safety distance from each other, at least one meter, for their own and others' safety. Among the various anomalies and paradoxes of the times we are living in, relating to others as if we were in a zombie apocalypse video game is not something we can do spontaneously and immediately. The designer's task is precisely to find functional answers<\/strong> to people's ever-changing needs.<\/p>\n

Design Gang responds to the need<\/strong> to maintain the appropriate safety distance due to the Coronavirus emergency with the design of Corolla.<\/p>\n

What is Corolla and how does it solve the safety distance problem?<\/h2>\n

Corolla's design was preceded by a study of \"droplet-proof\" clothing-those droplets of saliva that are dispersed into the air by people who sneeze, cough or talk.<\/p>\n

The evolution of this study is Corolla<\/strong>, a wearable PPE <\/strong>(Personal Protective Equipment) that allows a safe distance (1 meter) to be maintained between people, which is necessary to comply with the requirements of the March 8, 2020 Dpcm for Covid-19 containment measures. As a reminder, this decree provides for penalties for failure to observe the one-meter distance between people, an obligation currently imposed on everyone who goes to bars, restaurants, stores and shopping malls.<\/p>\n

Corolla is an equipped belt<\/strong>, with 5 harmonic steel wire rods, flexible but not bendable, with soft ends that on the one hand allow people to clearly perceive the meter of distance and on the other hand allow location managers to have a concrete solution to their responsibilities.<\/p>\n

Corolla adapts to spaces<\/strong>, allowing passage through narrow doorways and seating people.<\/p>\n
