There are events that are not just a ribbon cutting, but the concrete beginning of new synergies between research, institutions and businesses. The opening of the Seastar Competence Center - Sustainable Energy Applied Sciences, Technology & Advanced Research is one of them.
We had the privilege of collaborating with the Seastar Competence Center team in the management and development of the inauguration event of the new laboratories within the Turin Enviroment Park, taking care of their set-up and visual aids. The layout was designed to dialogue with the academic spaces and the technological nature of the center, without overloading the scene but enhancing its content. A project that combined organization, creativity and institutional vision under the banner of sustainable innovation-oriented collaboration.
On January 30, the Seastar Competence Center, a center dedicated to the development of advanced technologies and solutions in the field of sustainable energy, opened in Turin.
Among those present were Environment and Energy Security Minister Gilberto Pichetto, Turin Polytechnic University Rector Stefano Corgnati, Italian Institute of Technology Scientific Director Giorgio Metta, and Environment Park President Giacomo Portas.
The project was created with the support of the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE) and involves state-of-the-art laboratories and specialized equipment, with the aim of strengthening applied research and technology transfer to the production system.
The Seastar Competence Center is part of a broader energy transition context in which universities, institutions and businesses collaborate to develop innovative, sustainable and scalable solutions. The inauguration was a moment of discussion between academia, institutions and stakeholders, underscoring the value of public-private collaboration (read more in theANSA article).
When a project is supported by a ministry and involves a prominent university such as the Polytechnic University of Turin, the inaugural event takes on symbolic and operational value at the same time.
It is not just about communicating an outcome, but about telling a vision, creating a networking opportunity, and strengthening relationships between partners.
In this context, event management becomes an integral part of institutional communication strategy. Every element-from staging to visual aids, from directing official moments to narrative coherence-contributes to conveying credibility and authority.
Our collaboration developed on this very plan: to transform an opening into an experience consistent with the positioning of the project and the identity of the Seastar Competence Center.
