Ideas, thoughts, projects in search of glory or simply reflections on "design thinking" and "design thinking"

OPEN SOURCE DESIGN
Is it possible to translate the freeware mentality that is conquering the world of software in the complex and materialistic reality of hardware? We believe so and this might lead to the creation of really necessary objects, required and approved by end users. If companies, designers and users contribute to the creation and development of the objects we could combine skills, capabilities and critical thinking. Waiting for proposals and suggestions …

SUMMER SCHOOL
Is it possible to create systems that spread the culture of design and promote creative actions devoted to the territory? We are trying to undertake an experiment through learning centers in different summer resorts of Liguria. The courses will take place between July and August and will be organized in different thematic workshops. The commissioner of each workshop, which will suggest the area of intervention and decline the design skills of the students according on the local demand, will be the local authorities. Districts and provinces will host the courses suggesting the subject of intervention that students, guided by teachers, will develop. The different institutional entities involved will provide a brief to the different work groups whose purpose is the creation of a project responding to actual needs of the territory in different areas of design (urban design, graphics, etc.).

I AM 2.010
I AM 2.010 is a project of young people for the young people, an overview of the life and dreams of the new generations. The project is based on the innovative power of youth and their ability to create, experiment and make fashion designs, trends and habits, consecrating everyday objects to real social icons. Adolescence and the experience period hardly somatize connotations or imprisonment, the assessment or description of movements, styles or trends result often away from the true spirit of things: that's why any attempt to describe young people end's up falling into stereotypes or false preconceptions. In contrast, the scenarios that young people can build around (just think of the different trends in the teen music scene) are increasingly layered and complex. To avoid falling in obvious rhetoric, this project lets the main characters describe themselves, what they are and what they would like to be. I AM 2.010 aims to be an international project that invites young creative Europeans to confront themselves, facing projects in which they can totally identify themselves with the target.

INTERNET FOR PEACE
“I nominate Internet as world heritage for all mankind” which these words Shrin Ebadu, 2003 Nobel Peace Prize supports and signs the nomination of the Web, proposed by Wired, for the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize.
Another ambassador and spokesperson supporting the nomination of Internet for this important award is Riccardo Luna, editor in chief of Wired Italy, he explaines in its editorial of November 17, 2009 (published always on www.wired.it) how the idea of Internet understood as a network of people connected to communicate was conceived: "Internet was born this way, open, democratic, present. And it is now more than ever, despite continued attempts to harness it. Today it has reached every corner of the world becoming the largest communications platform that humanity has ever had. And communication is no longer only governments, businesses, lobby groups. But it is us, we connect the network, We share knowledge, We make plans, We nurture research, and create wealth.
Let us build bridges instead of walls. Internet is not like the telegraph or the refrigerator, as those who did not understand anything say. Internet is something that has never existed before. The first weapon of mass construction. It's up to us to use it for good. And many do it every day."
